Dr. John Lesko is a board certified orthopedic
surgeon who has practiced medicine in Southeastern Wisconsin
for over twenty years. In his home town of Detroit,
Michigan, Dr. Lesko played several high school sports. His
love of sports continued through college, which is why he
developed a special interest in sports related injuries. He
completed his undergraduate degree from the University of
Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and received his M.D. from
Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine, in Chicago,
Illinois. He completed a five-year residency at Henry
Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan where he was selected Chief
Resident.
Serving as Chief of Surgery at Columbia St. Mary's
Ozaukee campus from 1994-2000, Dr. Lesko was actively involved
in developing clinical processes, rules, regulations, and credentialing
for the new hospital. He continues to serve the hospital as the
secretary treasurer on the Medical Executive Committee, and has
accepted the role of Chief of Orthopedics.
In his new private practice, he and his staff will
focus on the treatment of both upper and lower extremity orthopedic
problems. His experienced
arthroscopic skills provide the necessary treatment
of complex problems of the shoulder and knee, and as a Sports
Medicine Specialist, Dr. Lesko treats acute and chronic sports
injuries both surgically and non-surgically.
You will find that Dr. Lesko's style is one of
teamwork. He focuses on the patient education, so that together
doctor and patient can develop a diagnosis and treatment plan
that will achieve the best physical outcome.
Dr. Lesko and his wife reside in Ozaukee County.
They have 5 children and are active members and leaders in their
community, church, schools and athletic programs.
